Briana G. Whitaker is a writer, speaker, counselor, a wife, a mother, and most importantly a born-again believer in Christ. She is the chairperson of the Young Women in Action Ministry (YWA) at Enon Missionary Baptist Church in Sumter, SC, under the leadership of Pastor Stanley E. Hayes, Sr. and Elect Lady Julie Ann Hayes. For the past ten years Briana has led the YWA ministry, a ministry with the purpose to win and prepare young women of God for kingdom service. At Enon she also serves as a trustee, a church school teacher, a member of the choir, worship team, Arrows (youth) ministry, and Outreach. She was recently appointed as the Vice President of the Young Women’s Auxiliary of the Sumter Baptist Missionary and Education Association, which serves 21 churches. Her mission is to be a positive example to the young women and girls within her ministry and in her daily life by practicing godly character and virtue.

In 2005, she entered the education field, teaching middle school English Language Arts for seven years before becoming a school counselor. She holds a Master’s degree in Education (Guidance and Counseling) from South Carolina State University in Orangeburg, South Carolina and a bachelor’s degree in English from the University of South Carolina in Columbia, South Carolina.

Briana is a former US Army Reservist and served her country in Operation Iraqi Freedom from March 2003 to March 2004. During her eight-year tenure in the military, she served as a print journalist with the 319th Mobile Public Affairs Detachment.

She enjoys writing and encouraging people, especially women, to seek God’s best for their lives by giving Him their best.  As a writer, she shares her personal experiences and insights in hopes that they will inspire others. Her blog provides soulful and insightful commentary on relationships and other various topics that are designed to provoke others to love and good works (Hebrews 10:24).

She currently resides in Sumter, SC with her husband Russell and her son Gabriel. When she is not writing, she enjoys working out, singing, watching movies, and spending time with her family.

    A great read WAIT ON GOD! This valuable principle, although sometimes may seem challenging, is a benefit! Learning how to wait will and hear the voice of God can help us avoid many mistakes!
